ZENcast Organizer seamlessly integrates ZENcast media files with Creative portable media players and/or your computer. Some portable media players may only support ZENcast audio files.

Fixes:

• Resolves download issues on certain subscribed channels.

Sync Manager (6.04.16)

Sync Manager enables you to synchronize various types of media files and data stored in your Creative portable media player and your computer.

Video Converter (5.60.16)

Video Converter enables you to convert video files to a format and size suitable for your video capable Creative portable media player. Use the application also to transfer converted video files to your video capable Creative portable media player.

This download contains an improved version of the firmware found on your ZEN Vision:M™. It improves the stability of your player during startup. For more information, read the rest of this web release note.

Note: If your current firmware version is 1.50.02, this new firmware may require you to retransfer any existing DRM-enabled tracks back to your player. For more information, see "Notes" below.

Notes:

  1. Turn on your player.
  2. From the main menu, select System -> Information.
     The firmware version number is indicated under "Version".
• To install this firmware
  1. Download the file into your local hard disk.
  2. Close all application windows that are currently running on your computer.
  3. Connect your player to your computer.
  4. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.

• When your player restarts after installing this firmware, the following will occur for the first time only:
  • The Rebuilding Library screen will appear.
  • Photos may take slightly longer than normal to appear.
• If the firmware version checked above was 1.50.02, and your player has playback issues with DRM-enabled tracks, launch the file transfer software to delete the existing DRM-enabled tracks on your player and retransfer DRM-enabled tracks to your player.
• Should you reinstall an earlier firmware version (1.60.01 or earlier) after installing this firmware, you need to retransfer any existing photos back to your player.
• This firmware supports the playback of Audible Type 2 and 4 tracks.
  Important: to transfer Audible content, you must have AudibleManager version 5 or later installed. AudibleManager allows you to download, burn, organize, transfer and listen to Audible audio content. Download AudibleManager from www.audible.com/software.

This update resolves compatibility issues between Creative Media Explorer or Creative MediaSource™ Player/Organizer, and Windows Media® Player 11 (WMP11). For more details, read the rest of this web release note.

You must already have ZEN™ Vision:M Media Explorer version 5.20.12 or later, or ZEN Vision:M Series Media Explorer version 5.21.04 or later installed on your computer to perform this update successfully. To check your current version of this application, see Notes below.

This update may not fully support pre-release versions of WMP11.

Fixes:

• Transfers album art correctly to your player.

This update addresses a security vulnerability that Creative users face when using Gracenote© services like MusicID™ (formerly known as CDDB™). For more details, read the rest of this web release note. You must already have one of the following applications listed in Requirements below on your computer to perform this update successfully.

Requirements

Creative NOMAD Explorer enables you to conveniently manage your NOMAD player's music and data library with Microsoft® Windows® Explorer.

You can use Creative NOMAD Explorer to:

• drag and drop songs and data files between your computer and NOMAD player
• manage songs in your NOMAD player's music library
• manage data files in your NOMAD player's data library
• create and edit playlists on your NOMAD player
• edit track properties in your NOMAD player's music library

After installing Creative NOMAD Explorer, you can find the NOMAD Explorer icon in Windows Explorer, under My Computer.

Requirements

• Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition or Windows 98 Second Edition
• Creative NOMAD Jukebox 2, 3, Zen, Zen USB2.0, Zen NX, Zen Xtra or Zen Touch
• For NOMAD Jukebox 3 users only, driver version 1.04.06 (JB3_Drv.exe, dated 27 Aug 2002, 935 928 bytes) or later installed on your computer

• Creative NOMAD Explorer replaces Creative File Manager Version 1 and 2.

Firmware Enhancements:

• Adds support for up to 16,000 songs
• Enables autoscrolling of track titles when the player is idle
• Adds a Time & Date display
• Allows continuous recording past the 10 hour mark with Wired Remote if sufficient hard disk space is available
• Adds the Selected Music option to the main menu
• Displays queued playlists as groups rather than flat lists in the Selected Music screen
• Adds the Play any track option to the Music Library menu

• Adds a new skin for the Now Playing screen

• Supports WMA9 VBR songs with bitrates higher than 200kbps
• Resolves the recording break issue so that a recording session is seamless when divided into separate tracks using the Fast Forward button

Notes:

• To install this firmware:

1. After downloading the firmware update file, extract the firmware by double-clicking JB3PCFW_1_40_06.exe.
2. Connect your player to a power outlet.
3. Connect your player to your computer.
4. Close all other software applications.
5. Double-click JB3Upgrade_1_40_06.exe and follow the instructions on the screen.
6. When Windows informs you that the player is detected, click the Upgrade button.
7. When the "Player is now rebooting" message appears on your computer, and the "Please Reset Player" message appears on your player's screen, your player will automatically reset itself.
8. Click the Close button.
9. Detach your player from your computer.

• To display the main menu options as graphical icons on your player:

1. Turn on your player.
2. Press the MENU button.
3. Scroll Select Settings -> Edit Profile... -> Menu -> Style.
4. Scroll Select Tabbed.

To display the main menu options as a list, follow steps 1 to 3, and then Scroll Select List.

This driver update provides full support for Windows Media Player 9 (Standard format) and Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition, and faster FireWire (IEEE 1394) transfer speed in Windows XP.
