  • If your USB audio device cannot be detected and you are running ESET Smart Security, this article may help.

Ensure that a 3.5mm analog cable is not connected to your USB headset.

If you can't install the driver of your Sound Blaster USB audio device and are running ESET Smart Security, disable "File Creation" before running the driver package.

Open ESET Smart Security and go to Setup->Computer Protection-> Real-Time File System Protection->Configure and disable File Creation.

Disconnect and reconnect the USB connector and run the driver package of your Sound Blaster USB audio device again.

If the driver provider of your USB audio device is not Creative Technology Ltd. in the device's properties. You can do a manual install of the device's driver.

Use WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract the contents in the .exe extension driver package of the USB audio device.

Use search for the driver file with .inf extension in the extracted file folder to get the directory of the .inf extension file.

Click on Update Driver in the device's properties.

Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".

Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".

Click on "Have Disk" and browse to the .inf file.

Click "Next".
