Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage Wireless: How to flash the firmware of the headset

Note: Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage Wireless V2.0 does not require firmware update as its firmware has the latest revision. Do not continue to flash this firmware as it would not work on Sony Playstation 4. During firmware update, both USB wireless transmitter and headset should NOT be connected to the computer at the same time.

To install the firmware on the SB Tactic3D Rage Wireless USB wireless transmitter:

  1. Download the firmware to your computer.

  2. Connect the USB wireless transmitter to the computer.

  3. Ensure that the wireless headset is not connected to the computer.

  4. Uncompress the downloaded firmware file.

  5. Double click on the file SBTR_PCFW_US_TX_1_59_140721.exe.

  6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

  7. After the installation of the firmware, unplug the USB wireless transmitter.

To install the firmware on the Tactic3D Rage Wireless headset:

  1. Connect the wireless headset to the computer.

  2. Power on the wireless headset.

  3. Ensure that the USB wireless transmitter is not connected to the computer.

  4. Double click on the file SBTR_PCFW_US_RX_1_58_121101.exe.

  5. Click on Upgrade.

  6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

  7. After the installation of the firmware, unplug the wireless headset.

After updating the firmware on both the USB wireless transmitter and the wireless headset, re-pair the USB wireless transmitter to the wireless headset.

To manually pair the USB wireless transmitter to the wireless headset:

  1. Press and hold the Microphone Mute button on the headset for 3 seconds. The connect LED will begin to flash rapidly.

  2. Press and hold the Connect button on the USB wireless transmitter for 3 seconds. The Connect LED on the transmitter will begin to flash rapidly.

  3. When the headset and the transmitter are paired, the Connect LEDs on both devices will stop flashing and stabilize.

If the pairing fails, discharge the battery of the headset and then re-charge its battery before pairing them again.

To discharge the battery of the headset, leave the wireless headset powered "ON" till it is completely drained off.
