Connect to a PC via Bluetooth

Before pairing, ensure that the Bluetooth transceiver in the PC is detected under the Windows Device Manager.

Bluetooth headsets do not require a custom driver to be installed in the PC. If an error message prompting for the driver of the Bluetooth headset, install or update the driver of the Bluetooth transceiver in the PC or get an external USB Bluetooth transceiver.

Mobile phones are able to switch between the Bluetooth Stereo Audio profile and Hands-Free Audio profile automatically during phone calls and audio playback.

The PC is not able to switch profiles automatically. You have to manually select the Bluetooth profile in the Windows Sound.

1. Go to Windows's Bluetooth setting and search for Bluetooth devices.

2. Allow the Bluetooth headset to go into the Bluetooth pairing mode.

3. Select the respective Bluetooth headset in the PC to pair it.

4. If the Bluetooth headset cannot be detected, perform a master reset of the Bluetooth headset and restart the PC. Pair the Bluetooth headset to the PC again.

The following screen captures illustrate the Bluetooth pairing sequences using our Sound Blaster EVO Wireless gaming headset as an example.


5. Select the Bluetooth headset (SB EVO Wireless Stereo) as the default audio playback device.

6. Select Bluetooth Stereo Audio for better audio quality. Select Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio to enable the microphone for voice communication but audio quality will be lowered.



7. To listen to vocal from the microphone, check on "Listen to this device".


Connect to a Mac via Bluetooth

1. Access Mac OS X Bluetooth options.

2. Allow the Bluetooth headset to go into the Bluetooth pairing mode.

3. Select "Pair" to connect the Mac computer to the Bluetooth headset (SB EVO Wireless).

4. If the Bluetooth headset cannot be detected or paired, perform a master reset of the Bluetooth headset and restart the Mac computer.



5. Go to Mac OS X "Sound" settings and select the Bluetooth headset (SB EVO Wireless) as the "Output" device.


6. To enable the microphone of the Bluetooth headset, go to Mac OS X "Sound" settings and select the Bluetooth Headset (SB EVO Wireless) as the "Input" device. Once the microphone has been enabled in the Bluetooth headset, the audio playback quality will be lowered.
