1) What are the differences between Sound BlasterX H7 and Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition?

Sound BlasterX H7 and Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition are sharing similar USB audio device. Both headsets are detected as "Sound BlasterX H7" in the computer.

The driver units of Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition have been upgraded for better sensitivity, clearer, louder and more accurate sound production.

The microphone of Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition has also been redesigned for better voice pick up and noise cancellation in a loud gaming environment.

The Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition has also been given a new look with new brushed-metal headphone cup plates and gun-metal finishing.

The inner earpads of the Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition are in red and there are large letter markings of "L" and "R" at each side.

2) Will there be virtual 7.1 surround when the Sound BlasterX H7 is connected to a computer through a 3.5mm audio connection?

As the BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro software and the USB audio device will not be used, virtual 7.1 surround will not be present.

If the audio device connected to the Sound BlasterX H7 supports virtual 7.1 surround for example the Sound BlasterX G5, virtual 7.1 surround will be present.

3) Is virtual 7.1 surround supported on Playstation 4 when the Sound BlasterX H7 is connected through a USB connection?

No; Virtual 7.1 surround is only available in PC running on Microsoft Windows with BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro software installed.

4) How to connect the Sound BlasterX H7 to Playstation 4?

There are 2 ways to connect to the Playstation 4:

- USB Connection
- 3.5mm audio connection to the Playstation 4 controller.

With a 3.5mm audio cable connected to the inline remote of Sound BlasterX H7, the USB audio connection of the headset will be disabled automatically. It is not recommended to connect both USB and 3.5mm audio connection to the inline remote of the headset at the same time.

5) How to connect the Sound BlasterX H7 to Xbox One?

The Sound BlasterX H7 can be connected through a 3.5mm audio connection to the Xbox One controller.

If the Xbox One controller does not have a 3.5mm audio output port, it has to be connected to the Xbox One headset adapter. The Xbox One headset adapter has to be purchased separately.

6) What are the differences between Sound BlasterX H5 Tournament Edition and Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition?

Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition supports both USB and 3.5mm audio inputs whereas Sound BlasterX H5 Tournament Edition only supports 3.5mm audio input.

Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition runs on BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro software, whereas the Sound BlasterX H5 Tournament Edition runs on BlasterX Acoustic Engine Lite software.

7) What happens when both USB and 3.5mm audio cables are connected to the inline control of the Sound BlasterX H7?

The USB audio connection is disabled, even though the LED lights on the headphone cups are still flashing. 3.5mm audio connection has higher audio playback priority over USB audio connection.

8) There is static noise while playing audio through the 3.5mm audio connection with the Sound BlasterX H7.

The static noise may be inherited from a ground looping between the USB and 3.5mm audio connections. Disconnect the USB cable from the headset to prevent static noise.

9) Can the audio effects be applied to the Sound BlasterX H7 when the BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro software is not launched?

No; the software has to be launched.

10) What are the earcup diameters of Sound BlasterX H5 and Sound BlasterX H7?

The earcup diameters of Sound BlasterX H5 and Sound BlasterX H7 are the same. They are approximately 84mm by 104mm.
