Creative MuVo players can play .mp3 and .wma files. These players also support playback of WMA version 9 and Audible tracks with DRM (Digital Rights Management) content protection with the latest firmware upgrade. The file name is MuVoAudible_PCFW_1_40_12_L4.exe, and it can be downloaded from www.creative.com.

To install this firmware upgrade, do the following:

  1. Transfer all files from your player to your PC before installing the firmware upgrade.
  2. Connect your player to your PC while pressing and holding the Play button. Keep pressing the Play button for 10 seconds after connecting the player to your PC .
  3. Release the Play button. A dialog box appears, prompting you to install a Player Recovery Device driver.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the device driver installation.
  5. Once the Player Recovery Device driver installation is complete, double-click the firmware upgrade .EXE file.
  6. When the NOMAD MuVo Audible Firmware Download dialog box appears, click the Start button.
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the upgrade.
  8. Disconnect your player.

To transfer WMA tracks with DRM content protection to your MuVo player, you must use Windows Media Player 10, or Creative MediaSource (with NOMAD MuVo Pack v. 1.02.06 or later installed). WMA files transferred directly with the drag and drop method in Windows Explorer can not play back because the necessary licenses are not transferred.
