An audio microphone splitter adapter is required.

3. Can I output audio from one application to the headphones output and another application to the speakers output at the same time?

It is not possible to output audio from one application to the headphones output and another application to the speakers output at the same time.

4. How do I configure my computer if I have more than one audio devices?

Select the playback device and recording device that has been connected to the headphones output and microphone input as the default device in the operating system.
If the microphone requires an external power source, such as a battery, verify if enough power is being supplied.
Verify that you have selected "Mic In" instead of "Line In" in your audio device's application software.
