Undetected Headset Microphone

In cases whereby the Microphone is not recording or not being detected by the soundcard, it is advisable to run the soundcard installation once again with the bundled cd and selecting repair to ensure that the installation is now complete and proper. Do also check that the soundcard has been selected as the default device for recording.

Headsets with 4-pole jacks will require an audio microphone splitter cable to connect the microphone jack to the microphone port of the computer's audio device.

For Windows:

  1. Ensure that the switch on the inline volume control is "ON".

  2. Select Control Panel, and then Sounds and Audio Devices.

  3. Ensure that the microphone input port is selected as Microphone Input instead of Line In in the sound card's control panel software.

  4. Select the Audio Tab and ensure that the correct audio device has been selected as the default device for Sound Playback and Sound Recording.

  5. Launch a recording application such as the Sound Recorder to test the recording session again.

For Mac:

  1. Ensure that the switch on the inline volume control is "ON".

  2. Refer to Apple's support website on "Mac OS X Yosemite: Adjust your computer's sound input settings".

If the above procedures would not help, it is recommended to connect the headset to another PC and observe if the same issue occurs. This will help identify if the issue is on the headset or on the PC.
