Unable to change Aux 1 and Aux 2 effects in Music Creation Mode
Keywords / Key Phrases: aux 1, aux 2 effects, music creation mode

Summary:

  • Auxiliary effects, Aux 1 and 2 are hard-coded as Reverb and Chorus respectively, these effects are fixed and cannot be changed. However, it is possible to change Aux 3 and 4 effects.

Auxiliary Effects are traditionally external rackmounted effects units (such as Alesis Midiverb, Lexicon MPX 100) that are used in studios and connected to your mixer in such a way that any of your channels can have an amount of their signal routed to them (effects send) for processing.

The processed or “wet” signal is then routed back (returned, hence the name Aux Return) to the master output buss and added to the channel’s dry signal, allowing you to get a mix of dry/wet as required.

Of the four X-Fi Auxiliary effects, the first two are fixed as Reverb (FX 1) and Chorus (FX 2). FX 3 and FX 4 are freely assignable to any of the 10 effects (Auto Wah, Chorus, Compressor, Digital Delay, Distortion, Flanger, Parametric EQ, Pitch Shifter, Reverb and Vocal Morpher).

Note that the availability of effects is resource dependent so after adding two extra Aux effects and some insert effects, no further effects can be added. At 88.2 and 96kHz, Aux effects are available but Insert Effects are disabled.
