Installing Live! Cam Chat HD in Windows

The camera is UVC compliant which means it can work without installing any driver and applications. However, the camera will not be fully optimized without the software application.

To install the camera, do the following steps:

  1. Connect the camera to any available USB port of the computer. When the camera is initially connected to the computer, an audio device is detected which is referring to the camera's built-in microphone.


  2. Go to support.creative.com to download the Software pack of Live! Cam Chat HD.


  3. During the installation, the following languages will be prompted for selection.


  4. For Software License Agreement, select Yes to proceed with the installation.


  5. During the installation, you will be prompted to configure the camera Snap button. This can be changed in Live! Central 3 at the Settings tab.

If you need to to reinstall the custom driver or the software, you will need to uninstall the software first from the Windows Control Panel. See Windows Vista screenshot below.


Repeat the installation procedures again. After the installation, you should be able to see 2 listings under Device Manager. One listing is under the Imaging Devices while the other one can be found under Sound, video and game controllers. Make sure that the built-in microphone is configured as the default microphone for the computer.
