This download contains an improved version of the firmware found on your Creative MuVo™ TX FM. It improves your player's compatibility with Microsoft® Windows Vista™. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.

Added Features or Enhancements:

• Adds FM recording (for players with firmware 1.23.03).

Fixes:

• Enables your player to detect downloaded audio tracks after your player is formatted using FAT32 (Windows Vista RC1 and above).

Requirements:

• Windows Vista, Windows® XP, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition or Windows 98 Second Edition (SE)
• Available USB port (version 1.1 or higher)
• Creative MuVo TX FM
• For Windows 98 SE only: Creative Mass Storage Driver 1.07.00.250 or later, available from the Internet

Notes:

• This firmware only works with Creative MuVo TX FM players. Do not install this firmware for other players.
• You will lose all content in your player when you install the firmware. Back up any audio or data files in your player to your computer before installing the firmware.
• To install this firmware:
  1. Download the MuVoTXFM_PCFW_1_24_02_a.exe file into your local hard disk.
  2. Make sure your player is connected to your computer.
  3. Double-click the downloaded file.
  4. If you are prompted to reset your player, click OK.
  5. If the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on the computer screen, follow the instructions on the screen to complete the wizard.
  6. When the firmware download dialog box appears, click Start and follow the instructions on the screen.

Notes:

Current Release Features

• Provides basic audio support and control options for sampling rate and speakers only. Applications bundled with your audio device will not work with this driver.

Known Issues

• This download does not support direct monitoring.
• Speakers can be configured in Control Panel only.

Notes:

• To install the driver
  1. Download the USBVS_PCDRV_LB_1_00_0060.exe file into your local hard disk.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
• To uninstall the driver
  1. Click Start -> All Programs -> Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Device Manager icon.
  3. Double-click the Sound, video and game controllers option.
  4. Right-click the name of your audio device, and select Uninstall.
  5. From the the Confirm Device Uninstall dialog box, select the Delete the driver software for this device option.
     Note: This check box must be selected to avoid reinstallation issues.
  6. Click the OK button.
  7. Restart your computer.
• To reinstall the driver
  1. Double-click the USBVS_PCDRV_LB_1_00_0060.exe file.
  2. When the message You must restart your computer to apply these changes appears, click the Restart Later button.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

This download contains an improved version of the driver found on the Creative Video Blaster® Editor. It improves the sound quality of video captures under certain usage scenarios. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.

This download also includes VidCap, an application for capturing and converting videos with Video Blaster Editor.

• To check the version number of your audio drivers, do the following:
  1. Right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop and click Properties.
     Alternatively, launch Windows Explorer, right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab.
  3. Click the Device Manager button.
  4. Double-click Sound, video and game controllers.
  5. Right-click Creative SB Audigy2 (WDM) and click Properties.
  6. Click the Drivers tab.
  7. Check that the version number of your audio drivers is 5.12.10.1042 or 5.12.4.1081.
  8. Click the OK button.
• If your audio drivers are not version 5.12.10.1042 or 5.12.4.1081, you must install Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_0016.exe.
