This software pack includes the following:

• Creative Media Explorer (version 6.00.04)
  Allows you to manage your player easily in the familiar "Windows Explorer" environment.
• Audio CD Ripper (version 5.20.09)
  Extracts songs from an audio CD and transfers them to your player.
• SmartFill (version 2.00.26)
  Fills up your player with songs automatically.

  1. Download the file into your local hard disk.

This download contains an improved version of the firmware found on your Creative ZEN™ MicroPhoto. It enables you to play Audible® content on your player. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.

Enhancements:

• Supports the playback of Audible Type 4 tracks.
  Important: to transfer Audible content, you must have AudibleManager® version 5 or later installed. AudibleManager allows you to download, burn, organize, transfer and hear Audible audio content. Download AudibleManager from www.audible.com/software.
• Adds the Volume Restriction feature, which allows you to restrict your player's maximum playback volume.
• Adds FM recording (for players with current firmware version 1.30.04)
• Provides better support for languages other than English
• Improves responsiveness of the player's onscreen interface.
• Improves transfer latency times for DRM-protected files

• Enables the display of picture thumbnails from your player's icon in Windows Explorer (for computers with Windows Media® Player 11 only)

  1. Download the ZENMicroPhoto_PCFW_L16_1_31_01.exe file into your local hard disk.
  2. Connect your player to your computer.
  3. Double-click the firmware file and follow the instructions on the screen.

This update resolves compatibility issues between Creative Media Explorer or Creative MediaSource™ Player/Organizer, and Windows Media® Player 11 (WMP11). For more details, read the rest of this web release note.

You must already have ZEN™ V Media Explorer version 5.40.10 or later, or ZEN V Series Media Explorer version 5.41.01 or later installed on your computer to perform this update successfully. To check your current version of this application, see Notes below.

This update may not fully support pre-release versions of WMP11.

Fixes:

• Transfers album art and picture thumbnails correctly to your player.

Requirements:

• ZEN V Media Explorer version 5.40.10 or later, or ZEN V Series Media Explorer version 5.41.01 or later installed.

  1. Double-click the ZEN V Media Explorer or ZEN V Series Media Explorer icon on the desktop.
  2. On the Menu bar, click Help and select About ZEN V Media Explorer or About ZEN V Series Media Explorer. The version number is displayed in the dialog box that appears.
  3. Click the OK button to close the dialog box.
• To install this software package,
  1. Download the ZNV_PCPatch_LB.exe file into your local hard disk.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.

This update addresses a security vulnerability that Creative users face when using Gracenote© services like MusicID™ (formerly known as CDDB™). For more details, read the rest of this web release note. You must already have one of the following applications listed in Requirements below on your computer to perform this update successfully.

  Important: to transfer Audible content, you must have AudibleManager® version 5 or later installed. AudibleManager allows you to download, burn, organize, transfer and hear Audible audio content. Download AudibleManager from www.audible.com/software.

• Resolves the issue of your player (battery level full) turning off, while playing a 128 kbps DRM-protected WMA file.

• You will lose all content in your player when you install the firmware. Back up any audio or data files in your player to your computer before installing the firmware.
• To install this firmware, do the following:
  1. Download the MuVoTX_PCFW_LF_1_22_03.exe file into your local hard disk.
  2. Make sure your player is connected to your computer.
  3. Double-click the downloaded file.
  4. If you are prompted to reset your player, click OK.
  5. If the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on the computer screen, follow the instructions on the screen to complete the wizard.
  6. When the firmware download dialog box appears, click Start and follow the instructions on the screen.

This firmware removes your player's FM recording feature.

Enhancement:

  4. If you are prompted to reset your player, click OK.
  5. If the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on the computer screen, follow the instructions on the screen to complete the wizard.
  6. When the firmware download dialog box appears, click Start and follow the instructions on the screen.
• This firmware removes your player's FM recording feature.
