This download contains an improved version of the Creative WebCam Center application found on your camera installation CD. It adds enhancements for Yahoo!® Messenger video broadcast. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.
You MUST have DirectX 9.0b or higher installed before you install Creative WebCam Center 1.71.02.
To check the version of your Direct X application - Click Start -> Run...
- Type"dxdiag" and click the OK button.
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool dialog box appears displaying the version number under the System Information section of the System tab. - Click the Exit button to close the dialog box.
If you do not have DirectX 9.0b or higher - Download the latest DirectX installation file here.
- Save the download onto your hard disk.
- Double-click the file and follow the instructions on the screen.
New Features or Enhancements:
- Supports video broadcast through Yahoo! Messenger (except Yahoo! Messenger Japan only)
- Adds motion detection notification via Yahoo! video broadcast
- Adds basic SMTP authentication for sending email in Motion Detection mode
- Removes the FTP upload option in Motion Detection mode
- Adds Mini Video mode. This allows you to monitor video previews while using minimal desktop space
- Supports automatic photo playback for Photo Viewer
- Enables saving video recordings to WMV format
- Improves thumbnail display in My Recordings mode
