This web release installs applications to control your Creative Sound Blaster®'s audio settings. See 'Requirements' below for the list of supported audio devices.

The following software will be installed:

• Creative Device Control (version 1.20.08)
• Creative EAX Console (version 2.05.06)
• Creative Speaker Settings (version 1.54.08)

If you have already installed the software on your computer, see 'Notes' below to check existing software version numbers before installing this audio suite.

Notes:

• To check the version number of your Creative software:

1. Click Start -> Programs/All Programs -> Creative -> Creative System Information -> Creative Products -> Creative Software.
2. Click the application name.
3. Check the version number.
4. Close the application window.

• If you have your Sound Blaster audio device Installation CD, be sure to complete the installation of Creative applications before installing this audio suite.
• Before you use this update for your Sound Blaster audio device, make sure that no other applications are running or active in your computer.
• When installing this audio suite, do not disconnect your Sound Blaster audio device.

This standalone update provides improvements for your Creative Sound Blaster® Audigy™ 2 NX on Microsoft Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) operating systems.

This update includes:

Fixes

• Enables USB 2.0 functionality when used with the Windows XP SP2 update
• Improves playback of media files while EAX Console is running
• Enables a DVD-Audio disc to be inserted while EAX Console is running
• Improves DVD-Audio playback using your Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX
• Enables playback of DVD-Video using InterVideo®'s WinDVD® software while selecting the hardware acceleration option
• Enables saving new SoundFont banks using SoundFont Bank Manager
• Improves recordings set to 24-bit at 96kHz in Device Control
• Improves sample output via SPDIF at 96 kHz when the Digital Output Only mode is enabled
• Enables Creative MediaSource DVD-Audio Player to start properly when either EAX Console or Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer application is running.

Fixes

• Enables you to select an Effects preset in EAX Console without stopping the application.

• To check the version number of your Theme Engine, do the following:
1. Click Start -> Programs/All Programs -> Creative -> Creative MediaSource -> Creative MediaSource Player.
2. Click the Help button and click About Creative MediaSource.
3. Check the version number.
4. Close the application window.
• To install the update, double-click the file and follow the instructions on the screen.

It includes:

Fix

• Corrects the application issue when connecting or disconnecting your USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX from your computer, or turning off the USB audio device, while both your USB audio device and computer are turned on

• Creative SoundFont Bank Manager update (Version 1.00.26)

Fix

• Corrects the issue where the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX driver is unable to unload when the USB device is turned off while SoundFont Bank Manager is running on your computer

Update

• In Windows XP SP1, allows USB 2.0 connectivity with your USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX (a USB port or powered USB hub that is USB 2.0 compliant is required)

Fixes

• Corrects the noise issue when media files are played back while EAX Console is running
• Resolves the issue of the computer not responding when a DVD-Audio disc is inserted while EAX Console is running
• Corrects the issue of your USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX not responding when it tries to play back DVD-Audio
• Corrects the issue of your computer not responding when playing back DVD-Video using InterVideo®'s WinDVD® software while selecting the hardware acceleration option
• Resolves the issue of SoundFont Bank Manager being unable to save a new SoundFont bank, and returning to the default 4 MB bank, whenever the computer is restarted
• Removes distortions in recordings where Device Control is set to 24-bit at 96kHz
• Corrects the issue of samples lagging at 96 kHz via SPDIF when the Digital Output Only mode is enabled
• Allows Creative MediaSource DVD-Audio Player to start without prompting the "Device in use" message when either EAX Console or Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer application is running
