This standalone driver provides Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional x64 Edition support for the following Creative USB Sound Blaster® audio devices only:

• Sound Blaster Live!® 24-bit External
• Sound Blaster MP3+
• Sound Blaster Digital Music
• Sound Blaster Digital Music LX
• Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX

Requirements:

• Windows XP Professional x64 Edition operating system
• Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit External, Sound Blaster MP3+, Sound Blaster Digital Music, Sound Blaster Digital Music LX, or Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX
• Creative USB Sound Blaster Installation CD

Notes:

• This standalone driver supports the Windows XP Professional x64 Edition operating system only.
• Make sure that your USB Sound Blaster audio device is properly connected to your computer before launching the driver.
• To install this driver:
• If you have not installed the applications on your Creative USB Sound Blaster Installation CD:
1. Uninstall any existing audio device drivers.
2. Close all other Windows applications.
3. Insert the USB Sound Blaster installation CD and install all the applications.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5. Restart your computer to complete the driver installation.
• If you have installed the applications on your Creative Sound Blaster Installation CD:
1. Launch the Creative USB Sound Blaster series x64 driver.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
3. Restart your computer to complete the driver installation.
• After installing the Creative USB Sound Blaster x64 driver,
1. Download and install the Creative Basic Audio Suite for Creative Sound Blaster audio devices.
2. Launch the Creative Basic Audio Suite installation.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
4. Restart your computer to complete the installation.
• Your Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX audio device does not support DVD-Audio on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.

This standalone update provides improvements for your Creative USB Sound Blaster® series audio device on Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Service Pack 2 (SP2), and Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) operating systems.

Requirements:

• Windows XP SP1, Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2000 SP4

• Sound Blaster Live!® 24-bit External, Sound Blaster MP3+, Sound Blaster Digital Music, or Sound Blaster Digital Music LX audio device connected

Notes:

• Close all applications before installing this update.
• While installing this update, do not disconnect your USB Sound Blaster.
• After installing this update, do not reinstall any drivers from the Installation CD.

This web release installs applications to control your Creative Sound Blaster®'s audio settings. See 'Requirements' below for the list of supported audio devices.

• To check the version number of your Creative software:

1. Click Start -> Programs/All Programs -> Creative -> Creative System Information -> Creative Products -> Creative Software.
2. Click the application name.
3. Check the version number.
4. Close the application window.

• If you have your Sound Blaster audio device Installation CD, be sure to complete the installation of Creative applications before installing this audio suite.
• Before you use this update for your Sound Blaster audio device, make sure that no other applications are running or active in your computer.
• When installing this audio suite, do not disconnect your Sound Blaster audio device.

Fixes

• Enables you to select an Effects preset in EAX Console without stopping the application.
• Enables you to start the EAX Console application in Microsoft® Windows® Millennium Edition (Me) and Windows 98 Second Edition (SE).

Notes

• To check the version number of your Theme Engine, do the following:
1. Click Start -> Programs/All Programs -> Creative -> Creative MediaSource -> Creative MediaSource Player.
2. Click the Help button and click About Creative MediaSource.
3. Check the version number.
4. Close the application window.
• To install the update, double-click the file and follow the instructions on the screen.

Fixes

1. Corrected Dolby Digital file playback when switching from Analog to Digital mode.
2. Proper functionality of Creative Speaker Console and Mixer Console applications when using a Limited User account in Windows XP.
3. Removed "pop" sounds when media files playback starts.
4. Updated Creative MediaSource Go! online Help file.

• your audio device is already connected to your computer
• you have closed all other software applications.

• start any applications.
